Web Programming

Google Firebase Universal Translator

Charlie and Joe just returned from Google Next 2018 and we can’t resist sharing some of the cool web programming tools we saw.  We are offering our second bootcamp of the summer in August and we will be building a Web-based Chat Application that provides automatic language translation.

Each student will build a working website that using Google OAuth authentication to access a Firebase datastore.  They will select their preferred language and the chat application will automatically translate all the messages between different users and languages.

No specific prior programming experience is necessary, however, some familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.  What is more important is the ability to pay attention, follow directions, and a genuine curiosity about how computers and the Internet work.

Here are the details:

  • August 13-17, 2018 – apply now below
  • 9am to 4pm everyday, Friday at 3pm we invite parents to attend “Demo Day”
  • Bring your own portable computer, or you can use a loaner machine
  • Cost is $395 for the week
  • Bring your own lunch, we’ll provide snacks
  • Trampoline and Swimming Pool on-premises for creativity breaks.

Our web programming courses are more intensive than the video game development classes, and we only take 3-5 students a week.  Apply using the form below.
